In loving Memory of Emma Warren

Emma is always in our hearts and minds.

To mark the first anniversary of the tragic death of Emma, we are holding a memorial tomorrow, Thursday 27 September 1:30pm here at Inglewood Primary School Dell.

We will start with a Karakia and Waiata.

This will be followed by a few words, bubbles and the planting of the beautiful Kowhai Tree Karen and S'ean Warren have given us.

We will officially open "Emma's Buddy Bench" which is placed in our Dell area.

Emma was everyone's buddy here at Inglewood Primary, especially anyone new to our school. Emma's seat is a place for us all to sit and remember her beautiful smile, kindness to others, lover of daffodils, plants, worms and animals.

If you would like to join us tomorrow afternoon, please do. We have purchased natural lollies "Squirms" to share with our staff and students (Emma loved worms - real ones).

If you would like to bring along a packet to share, that would be fabulous.

S'ean and Karen will not be attending the memorial, however we do have their blessing with our plans.

Moni's Marvellous Message - Production

Big picture

Thank you, thank you, thank you

We have been absolutely delighted with our school production, Moni's Marvellous Message. The students excelled themselves delivering a fabulous show. The last one is tonight and all tickets have been sold. We will have recordings available to purchase, which have been professionally done. We will have the recording on sale for purchasing early Term 4. Both Rata and Kowhai Casts will be available.

Many, many thanks to all who have contributed in any major or minor way - productions like this are a huge undertaking and cannot be done by a few. Our last full school production was in 2014 as we have not had our hall available due to property remediation.

Linkhorne Cup - Rugby Final

Last the IPS Linkhorne rugby team played their final VS St Josephs, Hawera, on Yarrow Stadium number 1 field. We started well with 2 excellent long range tries from Sean O'Sullivan and Shyon Cooper, before St Josephs fought back to take a 29-10 lead at half time. However in true IPS spirit, we came storming back into the lead, with fantastic tries to Shyon (2), Brayden Neilson and Preston Valentine, who also kicked well. In a frantic last few moments St Josephs scored a lucky try, before getting a another one to lead 39-38. With the last play of the game IPS were unable to break the defence of St Josephs and ran out of time to secure a victory. Despite the heartbreaking 1 point loss, all team members can be proud of their season. Pypa Ward, our captain was judge player of the day and Shyon Cooper's 3 long range individual tries were a highlight. Many thanks to coach Jamie Brocklehurst, for his time and energy in preparing our team for a successful season and all the parents and supporters who transported and supported us. The 2018 Linkhorne team was, Brayden Neilson, Luke Doherty, Amber Storer, Shyon Cooper, Janelle Dhedadig, Preston Valentine, Dan McDonald, Sean O'Sullivan, Pypa Ward (c), Connor Steele, Clayten Pearse, Mitchell Mace, Daniel Read, Luke Phillips, Matatuhi Martin, T'neal Helms, Brayden Shaw, Ben Rawlinson, Max Walker, Phoenix Petersen, Ethan Brocklehurst, Jamari Hayward,

Congratulations X Country Champs

The Taranaki Cross Country Champs were held at the blustery Hawera showgrounds Thursday. A 40 strong group of runners went south to compete and can all be proud of their efforts.

Highlights included Pypa Ward, Nicky McDonald and Matt Tee all finishing in the top 10 for their race, which had fields of over 200 runners in most cases. The star of the day for IPS was Kaitlyn Antill who comfortably won the 11 year old girls race by a minute. Her time of 12.59 for the 3km cross country race was one of the quickest of the day. Well done Kaitlyn, and well done to all the IPS runners, fantastic effort from you all.
