A Note From Mrs. Waters
Thank you for the toys that have been sent in for our "Toys for Tots" service project. The toys have already been sent over to the embassy and will be given to Qatar Orphan Foundations.
In your child's home folder you will find a Friendship Festival T-Shirt order form. Please return it by January 29th if you wish to preorder a shirt for your child. The T-shirts will then be delivered to the classrooms. T-shirts will also be sold at Gate 5 the last week in February and at the Friendship Festival on February 27th.
School picture retakes will be on Tuesday, January 20th. Please let me know if you would like your child to have a retake by Monday, January 19.
Learned about different nonfiction text features: captions, headings, and types of print.
Completed an All About Book. Each book has a cover, table of contents, introduction, information pages, and a conclusion.
Learned the place value of tens and ones.
Sorted clothing for each ecosystem. Then made a person for their diorama with the appropriate clothing for the chosen ecosystem.
Arabic Book Fair
The Arab Mothers Association would like to invite you to attend the Arabic Book Fair January 18th-21st from 8:00am-3:30pm in the Elementary Presentation Room. Students who are enrolled in AFL or MSA will have a chance to visit the book fair with their classes. Please feel free to send money with your child to purchase books. Parents are also welcome to stop by and browse the selection of books for sale. For more information you can contact the Lower Elementary Office Manager at email@example.com
The 4th grade classes are raising money for the World Wildlife Fund to help animas around the world. They will be collecting money during recess from January 18-21. Students will be entered into a drawing for symbolic adoptions for each 5QR they donate. Winning students will receive a stuffed animal, photo, adoption certificate, and a species information card for the animal they adopted.
