We'd love to have you help out during lunch
As the weather starts to change, some of our students would rather stay inside. In order to accommodate students who want to stay inside and others that would like to go outside, we will need to have three adults present for safety. Please consider helping out.
Thank you so much to those who have been able to volunteer and help out in the lunchroom. It is such a blessing to have dedicated family members who are willing to help out!
A Note from the Cafeteria
Lunch orders for the week of 11/6-11/10 are due by noon on 10/30. Please remember that this is a hard deadline and the link is disabled at noon.
There are no lunches on 11/9 (11:30 dismissal) or 11/10 (no school).
Join us this Friday for Trunk or Treat!
Join us for Trunk or Treat tomorrow night, Friday 10/27, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm! All SMS students, Montessori - Grade 8 and their immediate family members are invited to dress up in Halloween costumes and join us in the school parking lot in front of the Parish Center/Cafeteria entrances for Halloween fun! Our 8th grade class will be serving light refreshments in the school cafeteria for a small donation to offset the cost of their class trip to Washington D.C. If you are decorating a trunk you may arrive at 6pm to set up. If you haven’t signed up for a trunk yet, there is still space, please sign up here. If you are not decorating a trunk please park in an alternate lot to ensure there is enough space for students to walk safely. Click here for more info.
THANK YOU TO DENGLER, ROBERTS & PERNA and SPOTH’S!
Our 20th annual school pumpkin carving event was great fun thanks to our sponsor Dengler, Roberts & Perna Funeral Home, and our host Spoth’s Farm Market. Photos from this afternoon can be found on our website and social media pages, if you have more you’d like to share please post them to social media with the hashtag #SMSPumpkinCarving, or email them to Rebecca Kisailus at rkisailus@stmaryschoolswormville.org.
CLASSROOM HALLOWEEN CELEBRATIONS: 10/31
All students are allowed to dress up for Halloween! They may stay in costume all or part of the day per teacher instructions, but all students will be walking in the annual "SMS Halloween Parade" following announcements and the pumpkin prayer in the gym at 8:15 am. Parents are welcome to attend for the prayer in the gym and parade. Please nothing gory, no blood, no masks covering the entire face, no weapons or anything resembling a weapon for costumes. Shoes must be safe for navigating the stairs. Your children may also be enjoying Halloween activities, crafts, parties, snacks, etc. on Tues., Oct. 31st as organized by their teachers and HSA Room Parents. Please refer to communications that have (or will be) coming home from their individual classrooms for more info on the festivities planned for each class.
SCHOOL PHOTO RETAKE DAY: 11/3
If your student was absent or you just would like their school photo retaken, forms will be coming home next week for retake day on Fri., Nov. 3rd. Students having their photos retaken are of course allowed to wear non-uniform clothing that day.
