Updates and Information - September 3, 2020

It's finally here! The first day of school is upon us! Speaking for myself, I cannot wait to see kids in the building again. We can't have our traditional back to school, red-carpet, celebration, but I am planning to still make it fun.

Thanks for all of your support as we have prepared to embark on this new adventure.

Where Do Students Line Up In The Morning?

Front Doors
  • Ms. Davis
  • Mr. Jenkins

South Side of Building by Playground

  • Ms. Baggus
  • Mrs. Kiefer
  • Ms. Hizel

South Side of Building by Music Room and Cafeteria

  • Ms. Zeiner
  • Mrs. Hostetler

Northeast Side of Building by Upper Playground

  • Ms. Smith

We will have plenty of staff to help direct students to the appropriate door on Monday and Tuesday,

Where Will My Student Be Dismissed From?

All students will be dismissed from the outside door of their classroom, except for Ms. Davis and Ms. Baggus. Students in those classes will be dismissed through the doors on the northeast side of the playground by the toadstools.

Students who attend SAE should walk around the outside of the building and line up by the cafeteria doors to be let in by SAE after school. Marty will pick-up students from grades K & 1 to escort them to SAE.

Students in kinder and 1st grade who ride the school bus or the daycare bus will be picked up from their classroom and escorted to the buses.

Bell Schedule

7:50 - AM Preschool students arrive

8:05 - Students having breakfast at Stott and siblings of AM preschools students enter

8:10 - Daycare and bus students arrive and temperature check

8:15 - Last Names A-M arrive and temperature check

If families carpool, we will work with you to choose one arrival time for entry. We are trying to minimize the number of students entering the building at one time.

3:00 Daycare bus, SAE and preschool siblings dismissed

3:05 Car riders

3:10 Walkers and bus students dismissed

Free Breakfast and Lunch

You may have heard that all students can get free breakfast and lunch this year. This is true, until December 31. You do not have to do anything for this to take place. Any student who goes through the food line will swipe their id card and breakfast/lunch will be provided free of charge. If students would like extras or items off the snack cart, they will need to have funds loaded onto their School Cafe account.

While meals are free until the end of December, we still encourage everyone who may qualify to complete the Free and Reduced Lunch Application. This will provide benefits to you such as waived school fees and waived field trip costs. Additionally, it provides our school with extra federal funds. If you are unsure if you qualify, please fill out the application. It does not check your credit. You will need to log in to School Cafe to complete the Free and Reduced Application.

Snow in September?

I can hardly believe that we will be starting our first day of in-person school this year with snow, but that is exactly what the forecast is calling for. Please help us by making sure your kids are dressed appropriately for the weather and that they have coats and closed-toed shoes. We will try to go outside for recess unless it is a downpour. All grades have at least 2 recesses built into their schedule, and many have 3.

School Fees

If you have not done so, please log into Jeffco Connect and pay school fees for the year. We recognize that things may be difficult this year. If you need assistance paying your fees, please call the office and we can help create a payment plan for you.

Picture Day

We are so excited that we will still be able to hold a Picture Day for students this year! Our photographer has planned a drive-up picture day (don't worry pictures will be outside and not in your car). Information is included below.

Big picture

Upcoming Important Dates

  • August 24 - September 4 - Remote learning conducted by teachers

  • August 31-Sept 1 - K-3 Students will come to school at a scheduled time for assessments

  • September 8 - Students return to Stott for in-person instruction

  • September 18 - No School for students

Donations Needed

Families, I rarely reach out asking for donations, but we have some very specific needs this year.

1. Reusable Water Bottles: Students may not use the drinking fountain at school. It will be very important that students have a reusable water bottle to fill from our water bottle filling station. If you have any extra water bottles as home that we can share with students that don't have a water bottle, it would be greatly appreciated.

2. Playground equipment: We cannot have cohorts of students sharing equipment such as jump ropes, kickballs, footballs, etc. We don't have enough equipment for each class to have enough. We would love donations for playground equipment that students can use in the field or on the blacktop when they can't be on the playground.

3. Finally, as we try to get classrooms of kids outside for breaks, we are thinking of shade tents. If you happen to have a tent from barbecues or kids sporting events that you are no longer using, we would gladly take it off your hands. Typically September can still be quite hot.
