LH K Kids Loving Literacy at WR

Enthusiastic Volunteer Readers Visit Walnut Ridge

December 2015

Last month lots of lucky friends at Walnut Ridge enjoyed about 40 K Kid volunteers reading aloud. Mrs. Monschauer and Mrs. Rebisz led an eager group of book lovers to Walnut Ridge to share their passion for reading! Groups of 2-3 LH readers visited classrooms to share a favorite story with our friends at Walnut Ridge. Thank you to Mrs. Gebhardt, the Walnut Ridge teachers that participated, and especially the K Kids for making these two Wednesday afternoon visits memorable. It is hard to tell during these visits who enjoys connecting most. Smiles abound as LH students walk down the WR hallway and visit their primary school classrooms and teachers. Walnut Ridge teachers beam with pride as former students read in a stellar fashion. Of course ,it is impossible to miss the excitement that is sparked for our Walnut Ridge readers during these community outreach moments. Thank you, K Kids, for your volunteerism and caring spirit!
