2nd and 3rd Grade Field Day - April 20th

Field Day is Friday, April 20th for 2nd and 3rd grade students. Kindergarten and 1st grade students will have Field Day on May 4th.

Students should wear tennis shoes and comfortable (dress code appropriate) clothes on Field Day, as well as apply sunscreen that morning. It would be a great idea to send extra water bottles and a hat with your child that day.

Coach D and Coach Lash are in need of volunteers to help run stations that day. If you are available to volunteer, please click on the following link:

Dress Code Reminders

Spring has sprung here in Central Texas. Warmer weather is here, so that means that shorts and tank tops are being worn. Please remember that shorts/skirts must be fingertip length. Tank tops are permitted, but strapless, halter tops, and spaghetti straps are not permitted. Students wearing strapless, halter tops, or spaghetti strap tops will be asked to change or wear a sweater or jacket. You can read the LVISD dress code by clicking on the following link:

It's always a good idea to leave the sandals, flip flops and dress shoes at home, as our students have PE and/or recess everyday. Tennis shoes are a much safer shoe option for our LVES Vikings, especially on PE days.

2018-2019 PTO Board Members Needed

We need people to fill many positions for next year. If you are interested in making a difference in your child's school, please consider being a part of PTO.
A few of the things we have accomplished this year, we purchased a new radio for PE, new pea gravel to make the playground safer, we gave money to the reading lab for new books, we coordinated monthly snacks/lunches for our teachers, and paid for 5 teachers to attend a conference.
If we do not fill board positions, then a PTO is not possible. If you have any questions regarding board positions, please contact Deanna Roberts, PTO President, at

Spring Book Fair

Mark your calendars for the Spring book fair April 27th - May 4th. This is a great way to stock up on books for summer reading and road trips! All proceeds from the book fair go back to the library to purchase books.

Lost and Found Overflowing

If your child is missing a jacket, lunchbox, shoes, backpack, etc, please have him/her stop by Lost and Found. Lost and Found is overflowing with items that have been lost. We have two wonderful volunteers that check Lost and Found almost daily to return items that have names on them, but there are still several items with no names.

All items not claimed at the end of year will be donated to a local organization.

Are You Returning?

Thank you so much for returning this form so quickly!

As we get closer to wrapping up an amazing 2017-2018 school year, plans for the 2018-2019 school year are already in progress! Student enrollment plays a huge part in staffing decisions each year, so we need your help with your plans for next year. A form is coming home in today's Friday folder called "Are You Returning?", please fill the form out and return to the front office on or before Friday, May 4th.

  • Do the right thing, even when it's difficult;
  • Be your best self;
  • Resist peer pressure;
  • Choose words and actions that are sincere;
  • Set high standards for yourself and stick to them.

Counselor's Corner

Hello LVES Families! While discussing our character trait of the month, Integrity, students are learning that one way to show integrity is by helping others in need. We invite you to join students at Lago Vista High School on Saturday, April 28 at 10 am at the LVHS one-mile cross-country track to walk and support the cause of WE Walk for Water. Every day, women and children around the world spend 200 million hours fetching water, often from sources full of dangerous contaminants. When #WEwalkForWater communities have access to clean water, girls can attend school, parents can run sustainable farms, and families can break the cycle of poverty. In order to raise funds and awareness for this program, the students are asking for a registration fee donation of $5 for students and $10 for adults. They are also selling t-shirts for additional funds. $25 raises enough money to give one person access to clean water for life! To find out more about this cause, go to: and to buy t-shirts, go to: . You may also email for more information.

Thank you for showing your child that there are many ways to show integrity by doing the right thing for others, as well as themselves!

If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them.” ~Dalai Lama

¡Hola familias LVES!

~Dalai Lama
