Family Focus
This year we are taking more of a family focused approach to homework. We believe that spending quality family time is vital in the success of your student. We will provide family friendly, engaging homework activities and assignments. We would love if you would send us pictures of these activities and share them with us.
This weeks Family focus: Work on decorating your Valentines day box. Each class will have their own contest for the best/most creative box. This needs to be completed at home and brought to school on February 13th.
Academics
ELAR: This week we will discuss point of view, and describe a characters internal and external traits.
Math: Students will represent and solve addition and subtraction word problems where unknowns may be any one of the terms in the problem.
Science: Students will observe, describe, and record patterns of objects in the sky; including the appearance of the moon.
Social Studies: Students will identify the characteristics of different communities including urban, suburban and rural, and how they affect activities.
2nd Grade Adventures
In order to promote high attendance, we will be spelling out the word ATTENDANCE. Each day that our class has 100% attendance a letter will be added. When the whole word is spelled out, we will celebrate. We will also have a school wide prize for the grade level with the highest attendance. Please help us reach our goal in 2nd grade!
