Focus
I attended a training this week where the speaker shared that one of the biggest problems with change in schools is initiative fatigue. Basically, school leaders have a tendency to "over do" change. It really got me thinking about how many initiatives are we focused on this year. Literacy, School-Wide Behavior Plan, Engage New York Math, and Student Engagement are all initiatives that I know I have discussed at any time this year. The reality is that I am guilty of pressing us to focus on many initiatives this year (even if I didn't list it above).
One of my goals moving forward is trying to narrow our focus as a school. Each of you has tried to embrace these changes/initiatives this year. I greatly appreciate your hard work and focus. I hope each of you have seen the benefits of these efforts as we move forward.
