Afterschool Maker Camp Opportunity!

KAS Makers to Present Project at Pittsburgh Maker Faire!

Special Afterschool Maker Time!

Announcing a special opportunity for KAS students 2nd Grade and up to work on KAS' Maker Faire project, called the Interactive Mythological Monster Mashup! Pittsburgh's first Maker Faire is October 10 and 11 at the Pittsburgh Children's Museum, and we've been selected to participate. Although some work on the project will be completed in school, this is an opportunity for interested students to participate to the fullest (and, we're going to need more time to get our project ready in time for the Faire!) Click below to find out more about Maker Faire.

Details!

We'll be deconstructing and reconstructing mechanical toys, creating circuits, programming with Scratch, and using our Hummingbird Robotics kits and more to create this epic display.

These special sessions will be held September 10, 17, 21, 24, 28, October 1, 5, 7 and 8. The cost to attend all 9 sessions will be $140, which includes a snack. The session will begin at 3:15 and end at 4:30. I am not adding materials into the cost because there is no take-home component as there is with regular Maker Mondays. However, if you'd like to donate needed items to our new Steamroom, check out the maker space wish list I created below.

If your student can't attend all sessions, but wants to attend a few, that's ok, too. Cost per session is $15. Please let me know in advance which days your student will be joining us.
