Maths: Problem of the week is back!
Dear Halcyon Students,
The mathematics department are VERY excited to announce that we have created an iTunesU course that contains a mathematics problem/challenge each week. This is organised according to increasing difficulty and a problem will be posted every Monday and you will have a week to submit your answers to either Ms. McDonald or Mr. Jones.
At the end of every term we will announce the winners and there are some amazing prizes!
You are able to enter answers for your grade level and above, for example, if you are in grade 6, you can complete the challenge called grade 6ish, grade 7/8ish, grade 9/10ish and grade 11/12ish.
You need to email your respective teachers with your answers by Friday of each week.
iTunesU enroll code: ECD-TCJ-KZH
Good luck!

Introduction to Halcyon's Newspaper Club!
Hello, my name is Maxime Cannamela, I am 13 and I am in Grade 8. Last year, in my old school, I wrote a monthly school newspaper along with my fellow classmates during an extra-curricular activity. This year, for my service and action project, I would like to do the same thing except the newspaper would be released weekly and the club will be during Monday lunchtime in F03 and Friday lunchtime in F03 where the members of the club would meet. The newspaper would include some news articles, fun facts, comic strips and colourings. Anybody interested can join by emailing me on the following email: mcannamela19@halcyonschool.com and I will send you a Google Sheet form to fill in before entering. As soon as one person starts entering the club will the newspapers start being published for the following Monday.
Thank you,
Maxime Cannamela.
