Senior Spotlight
Every few weeks leading up to graduation, we will interview two students out of the senior class about what they will be pursuing after high school, the goals they would like to achieve in ten years, and their favorite parts so far about their senior year.
Our first student is Brayden Strickland. Brayden is the son of David and Natasha Strickland. He plans to attend Sam Houston University to pursue a degree in electrical engineering. In ten years, he would like to achieve his goals of having a job with his degree, settle down, and have fun with his new life as an electrical engineer. The best part of his senior year so far is winning Homecoming King. “It was crazy, I didn’t expect to win!” said Brayden. After winning Homecoming King, Brayden then shaved his head bald as it was a promise to the student body if he won.
Our second student is Ariel Guthrie. Ariel is the daughter of Rhett and Laurel Guthrie. She plans to attend the University of Texas or Texas State University to pursue her degree in Communications. In ten years, she would like to travel the world and use her degree to live her life as a digital marketer. Ariel’s favorite part of her senior year so far was attending the State Thespian Festival. The Thespian Festival is a gathering of high school theater students desiring to better themselves as actors and actresses and to have a chance to compete at nationals. “Not only going to this convention was fun, but I learned new concepts and met many new people,” said Ariel.
These two students have been our spotlights of the week and we hope that their senior year and lives after college will be just as great as they are!
