Kirk Fenton News
24th January 2020
Dear Parents / Carers,
It has been lovely to have some sunshine this week and already classes have been getting outside to make the most of it. We have had another busy week in school with Sycamore Class enjoying a taster day at Sherburn High School. They took part in a range of lessons and activities designed to show them what life would be like when they go into Year 7 and proved themselves to 'Ready, Respectful and Safe'. Well done Sycamores!
This week I met with Martyn Sibley, the Trust CEO for our school termly review. This was a very positive meeting reflecting on the autumn term and looking forward to the spring term.
As we didn't have a parents' forum meeting in the autumn term, I would like to invite any interested parents to a meeting after 9am drop off on Friday 7th February. The focus of the meeting will be the results of the parent survey from the summer term and then starting to plan for the new Relationships and Sex education Curriculum that is due to come into force next school year. Sadly the meetings are not suitable to bring younger siblings but if you are available, do join us. It is really important for us to hear parents views of the school in a structured way and allows parents to have an input into discussions.
Finally for this week congratulations to Mrs Young who announced that she is expecting a baby later this year.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams

Bags to School
Was the Marie Kondo – declutter my house on anyone’s New Year’s Resolutions this year? Have you held and felt joyless from any items in your home? If so bag them and bring them to school.
Children will have brought home a Bags2School bag for you to fill with unwanted wares and to bring to school. By doing this we can raise money for the school, so the more you throw the more money we can raise for your school.
Bin bags will also be accepted.
You can drop your bags off after 3pm on Thursday 30th January or by 9am on Friday 31st January

Did you know.. The average 4 year old asks over 400 questions a day. I’m not surprised we feel like our ears will fall off by bed time.
