Tisch's Tidbits
Indiana State House Field Trip
Just a reminder that tomorrow if our field trip to the State House. We have been studying government in class, so it will be exciting to go to the actual place where most of things happen for us in Indiana. Please remember your child should wear something nice tomorrow. We will have PE for 25 minutes in the morning, so the kids can bring another pair of shoes/clothes to change into. We will be eating lunch at 10:30, leaving at 11:00.
Famous Hoosiers
It's that special time of year. Famous Hoosiers is here! Your child will be bringing home a list of famous Hoosiers today. Please discuss with your child their top three choices, fill out the back of the form, sign it and turn it in by Wednesday. I will then look through everyone's choices and will let your child know next week who they will be! We do most of this project here at school. The only things you will need to do are to help your child find their resources/sign off on them, find a costume so your child looks like their person and then attend our wax museum on May 16 from 1:30-2:00! This is always a highlight of 4th grade.
Absence
I just wanted to remind you that I will be absent Thursday and Friday of this week. Please call the main office if you to relay a message on those days.
Yearbook Order Forms
Order forms are coming home this week. If you would like one, they are 15 dollars and are due on March 23.
Report Cards
Report cards will be emailed you to on Friday of this week. Most of the standards have been introduced or fully taught by this point of the year with just a few remaining. Remember that sometimes a P means either your child hasn't fully mastered the skill or I don't have enough data points for that skill to know if your child has fully mastered it yet. With middle school around the corner, my expectations are high with the work that is being submitted. I am really proud of the progress made by each child in this classroom. They are amazing and blow me away!!

Planners
It's hard to believe we are almost to the final nine weeks of school! I know I always get a little bit of Spring Fever about this time and sometimes forget to check my kiddos planners. Some days we don't always fill them out, however, I typically always put work habits and behavior in the teacher section. You can always look to see if your child didn't complete their work on time or has a late assignment. I try to notate what it was as well. Same thing with anything behavior related. While we don't have homework often, if your child didn't complete something in class or knows an assignment is due and wants to work on it, they will bring it home. With middle school around the corner, I do hold your child accountable and expect them to be in charge of what they need to do. I give them plenty of time in class and touch base daily with assignments, so they should know what they need to do. :)
Kroger Gives Back!
Now that Kroger is rocking our worlds with their new stores and low prices, they’re also going to help our school!
If you haven’t gotten a Kroger Plus card yet, sign up for one and then add Union Elementary to your Community Rewards organization name.
If you already have a Kroger card simply hop on your computer and follow these easy steps…
1.) Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
2.) Click on “Kroger Community Rewards”
3.) Click on “View your rewards details”
4.) Scroll to “Community Rewards” and click “Edit”
5.) Type in 31364 and hit “search”
6.)Click on Union Elementary, and hit “Enroll”
Let Grandma and Grandpa know how easy that was, and get them signed up too. Now Kroger will give Union a percentage of what you spend which helps in many ways. This small action helps buy school supplies, instruments for music class, and much more. Thanks for your support. If you have any questions or need help please contact Brittany Henney at Brittanykay1@gmail.com
2nd Semester Volunteers
The second semester is here! If you are interested in helping me prepare some things for the classroom or possibly work with a small group, I would love to have your help! I am flexible with times, so just let me know the time you will come. I have a break from 8:30-9:00 each day so this is an easy time for me to show you what to do. My lunch varies on the other days between 12:00-1:00. Thank you in advance for all of your help!
