Softball vs Carrizo Springs 2-26-21
In their home opener, the Lady Pirates used a great team effort to defeat Carrizo Springs 8-2. On offense, Kaylee Blackledge had three hits, including a HR, and three RBIs. Liliana Espinoza and Destiny Johnson had two hits apiece. Espinoza drove in three runs on the night. Stephanie Lopez and Jasmine Altamirano-Carlos added a hit apiece. Blackledge struck out 17, giving her 33 Ks in two games, to lead the defensive effort. Johnson, Chloe Williams, and Victoria Beckerson provided key plays in the field.
Softball vs South San Antonio West 3-2-21
The Lady Pirates took care of business, defeating South San Antonio West 18-0 in three innings. In taking advantage of 16 walks, each of the starters scored at least once. Victoria Beckerson and Liliana Espinoza drove in three runs apiece. Kaylee Blackledge had another dominant outing, striking out ten while not allowing a hit. Everyone did their job and they continue to improve. The final non-district matchup will be Friday at home against Stockdale.
Softball at Johnson City 3-26-2021
In a great team effort, the Lady Pirates made a statement on Friday with a 9-3 win at Johnson City. The win moves their district record to 5-1 and into a first place tie with the Lady Eagles and Mason.
Destiny Johnson went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Chloe Williams finished with a hit and a run. Stephanie Lopez and Tania Duran scored a run apiece. Kaylee Blackledge was 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and two RBIs. Victoria Beckson provided the big hit of the night, a three run double with two outs in the second inning. Blackledge continued her dominance in the circle, striking out 19, while allowing just one earned run.
Softball vs Junction
The Lady Pirates improved to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in district play with a 17-1 run-rule victory over Junction. Everyone in the lineup scored at least once, led by Destiny Johnson with three runs. Johnson, Kaylee Blackledge, and Victoria Beckerson provided the hits. Karleopy Grano-Serrano and Tania Duran handled the few plays needed on defense successfully. Blackledge struckout six while allowing an unearned run on one hit and two walks.
Baseball
Baseball @ Medina 3-9-2021
Baseball held on for a 7-6 victory over Medina. Nick Zuecher struck out 6 while going 3 for 4 from the plate. Logan Burley and Fernando Rivera both went 2 for 4 from the plate. Clay Vincent closed out the game for the Pirates on the mound striking out the side to secure the victory.
Baseball vs Junction 3-26-2021
Pirates faced the Junction Eagles on Friday. Joseph Fuentes went 3 for 3 at the plate. Clay Vincent drove in 3 runs and Nick Zuecher drove in 2 runs.
Baseball vs Harper 3-30-2021
The Center Point Pirates fell short against Harper 12-1. Jaron Cooper led the way, going 2 for 3 with an RBI. Derrick Dominguez, Clay Vincent, and Fernando Rivera all had stolen bases.
