March Focus: Math Madness & Spring Reading
The elementary focus for the month of March is Math Madness and Spring Reading. Spring is approaching, the weather is warming up, and the time change coming all in the month of March.
Math can be fun when students see it in their world. Have them count coins, crayons, pretzels, or steps that they take when they walk. Play "Guess My Number" and tell them higher or lower until they guess the number you chose. Let them help you measure ingredients when you are cooking or baking. Roll two dice and have them add the amounts together.
Encourage your student to attend story time every day. It is a great way for them to have an adventure, learn new vocabulary, hear fluent reading, and develop a love of reading.
Spring Break is coming. I hope you all get some time to enjoy the fresh air and time with family. Our 4th quarter begins on March 21st. I can't believe how quickly this school year has gone. Thank you for choosing OVCA! Remember to re-register for next school year.
