Literacy Essential Training 12:15-2:15

Presented by Sharron Takacs and Sarah Gordon


Staff will engage in K-6 literacy essentials training to help with their instruction.


Topics:


  • The different instructional methods to use within the classroom.
  • Hands-on training through modelling, sharing, and video clips.
  • Discussion on the techniques and tools being utilized within the classroom



10 minute break will be built in during the session.


Staff will engage with the presenters through large groups demonstrations, small group discussions, and then individual work time to increase their literacy instruction.

M-STEP and NWEA Data Review 2:15-3:15

Third through 6th grade staff will review the following in preparation for the state assessments:


  • Testing schedule- Using Chromebooks in grades 4th through 6th.
  • Small group testing groups- This needs to be completed by March 1st. Remember you need to contact parents to let them know that testing in a small group is more beneficial and get the paper signed.
  • Complete work for Mrs. Lipa to get everything in the computer system


Review the 18-19 data.

Review Winter NWEA data- This data will help show the gaps each student currently has and this data gives the areas to focus on for the individual student.


Share ideas to help promote the importance of the assessments.
