We will be going to a 9 week grading period next year.
You will receive a grading period calendar soon. There will be 2 progress reports in between report cards. Each grade level will need to adjust their grade policies.

May 13 -STAAR 3 & 4 math (paper & online), 5th math retest (paper only), Life Skills field trip
May 14 - STAAR 3 & 4 reading (paper & online), 5th grade retest (paper & online) Life Skills field trip
May 15 - STAAR 5th grade science (paper & online), 5th grade Roaring Chorus EOY party 2:30 in the music room,
May 16 - STAAR 5th grade math (online only), Last day for AR test, library books due, ARD (McFaul, Wardlaw) 11:15, ARD (Mayhew, Wardlaw) 1:00
May 17 - STAAR make-up, Regular schedule (no M &M - Monday schedule) Awards practice for 4th grade 1:30, AR 100 pt. Ice Cream party following each grade level lunch (one lunch monitor will need to escort them to library and the rest go to recess - teachers please take a list of names to the lunch monitor that day), MANDATORY meeting with Gentry in Mrs. Jaap's room (ALL employees MUST meet with with them 8:30-3:10), ARD (Manasse, Cloud) 11:00

May 22 - 5th grade Kickball TNT (coaches will get the details to you), 3rd grade Awards Assembly 1:00-2:00, ARD (Darby, Wardlaw) 11:30
May 23 - Last day and early release for students (see revised schedule below), Autograph Party and snow cones on the playground - 3rd grade 9:00-10:00, 4th grade 10:00-11:00, 5th grade 11:00-12:00, Senior Walk at intermediate campus 10:00 and Celebration in auditorium to follow, report cards, staff lunch on your own after all students are gone (be back by 1:30), faculty EOY reception/retirement/awards/recognitions, remainder of the afternoon is a workday - everyone stays until 3:30
May 24 - staff workday, all check list items must be turned in by 10:00 am, leave for faculty lunch (Jalapeno Tree) at 11:10 (make sure you have placed your order on Google doc) lunch is at 11:30

REMINDERS
- Make sure you have followed all recommendations to make your classrooms meet Fire Safety Code.
- Please remember to bring your emergency flip chart to every drill/evacuation.
- Please make sure you are taking your students to lunch on time (not early). Do not drop your students off unless a monitor is there.
- Make sure Power Hour is running as intended
- Please refer to the "no picture" list before taking pictures of your students.
- All (general) notes to parents need to be approved by Dana before being sent home
- Wear jeans & SHI t-shirts on Tuesday's
- Walk your students to all destinations and pick them up there (includes switch classes)
Encourage good attendance
Make sure you are making positive phone calls home and document
Check students for dress code (hair too)
Make sure all areas of the playground are being supervised - spread out!
Do not leave students unattended (this includes students working in rooms during recess)
Fundamental 5 is expected in every classroom...everyday (1. Lesson frames 2. Power Zone 3. Frequent small group purposeful talk 4. Critical writing 5. Recognize and reinforce
