Summer Reading Club Registration

Registration begins: Tuesday, July 2, 2013
and continues throughout the summer.

Get ready to GO! Summer is HERE. If you're wondering what to do with this kids, be sure to sign up for the TD Summer Reading Club at the library! We'll keep them busy with daily crafts, activities, programs, books, and movies. They'll enjoy the prizes and exclusive "End of Summer" Carnival! We have programs planned for all ages - from toddler to teen.

You've stepped into the digital age and have a gadget, smartphone, e-reader, whatever. Now you just need to know how to read books on it...

We can help! St. Thomas Public Library is having a free workshop to show you how to use your gadget to download, transfer, and read library eBooks. We can also help you if you're considering buying a eReader and just need more information.

Please bring your library card, device, and any necessary attachments and cables.

Get Out of Fines FREE - For Teens

Have fines at St. Thomas Public Library? No problem! If you're a teen aged 12-18 years, we'll help you get out of fines for free. All you have to do is READ. Ready any book, graphic novel, or magazine you like!

We'll subtract $1.00 off your library account for every half hour you read during the following times:

Every- Wednesday: 10 AM - Noon | Friday: 6 - 8 PM | Saturday: 2 - 4 PM

In the Ingram Activity Centre. This program only covers fines and replacement cards; not for replacement costs of books. Pick up your "Get Out of Fines Free" card at the Children's & Teens' Information Desk. You must present your card before and after you read. Redeemable only at the C&T Information Desk. Ends August 24, 2013.

This month at the Market:
  • July 6 - Paper Craft: Give these books a new life! We're selling bundles of discarded hardcover books, perfect for paper craft and art projects.
  • July 13 - Summer Reading Club Registration: Didn't make it to the library yet to sign up your kids for Summer Reading Club? No worries - we're coming to you! Children of any age can sign up for the Summer Reading Club at the market. Each registrant receives an official "Go!" passport and stickers, and access to programs, activities, movies, draws & giveaways, and an invitation to an End of Summer "Carnival!"
  • July 20 - Beach Reads: Looking for a light, breezy read for your summer holiday? Grab a Beach Read! We've searched the shelves for you and bringing them to the market, so you can just grab, scan, and go! (Don't forget to bring your library card!) Your summer vacation starts NOW!
  • July 27 - Adult Book Club: Get a jump on the reading for the Adult Book Club. We've just released the list and are bringing copies of the books to the market. As a market attendee, you'll get first chance to see the list and check out the books. Read them now, discuss them later!

Friends' Book Sale: The Friends are selling books a little differently this year. Books are by donation! You pay what you think the book is worth. New selection of books are added weekly. Also, check out their pre-wrapped book gift packs which include a gift certificate for a free book at the Library Friends Shop!
