Report Card/Final Grades for First Quarter on November 13
Warrior Students and Families,
With the shift to what we call a 4x4 schedule, meaning four classes in the first semester and four classes in the second semester, we would like to send out another reminder of what that does to our grading and academic calendar. Because year-long courses are compressed to 18 weeks and all semester long courses are compressed to 9 weeks, the 9-week grades (Nov. 13th) go on to the transcript as semester grades, part of the permanent record and GPA. That means students only have the next few days to make sure they are caught up on their classes and are being successful. Historically, students are in the mindset of having until the end of January to "get their grades up" but that is not the case this year. This is not new news, but we want all parents and students to be aware of this as time for this first 9 weeks is running short.
2nd Quarter Schedule Corrections
You never know who will be at your door. Ms. Pedersen visits and surprises her students!
Do you have Chromebook Coverage?
Anticipating that all students will get a district-owned device, the district adds a fee of $20 to students’ Online Payment accounts to enroll them in the Damage Loss Protection Program. This fee is waived for families who qualify for the free or reduced meal benefits program and have completed the Permission to Share Form. Students need to pay the assigned fee prior to any damage or loss claims to be eligible for the Protection Program coverage and no later than 30 days after they begin school.
If you decline coverage, you are assuming full responsibility for any costs due to damage, loss or theft. These costs could be as much as $300 per incident.

Oregon’s Student Health Survey
The Beaverton School District is continuing our participation in Oregon’s Student Health Survey (SHS). The SHS is a survey sponsored by the Oregon Health Authority Public Health Division and the Oregon Department of Education. The survey will gather information about health risk behaviors of students in grade 11. Our District uses these anonymous results to learn more about:
- Student health and safety
- Student mental and behavioral health
- School climate and culture
The SHS will take students 30 minutes or less to complete and will be administered through Canvas in Advisory between November 3-24. Students will be given information on support resources prior to taking the survey. Go to this link for more information and Opt Out Form.
