FMS 7th Grade Newsletter: Week of Feb 1-5

We had a great week starting “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street” from The Twilight Zone. We read the play and also watched the show to find similarities and differences. The students really enjoyed acting out the characters and reading. Next week, we will do another Socratic Seminar to practice our speaking and listening skills and also build on other people’s ideas. In addition, we will be starting narrative writing!

This week, students will review how to write and solve one step and two-step equations in Unit 6: Expressions, Equations, and Inequalities. Important vocabulary words and sample problems are available in the Family Newsletter from Open Up Resources.
Students should be using Edmentum ExactPath for 15 minutes per day in math. Please check out this resource for more about Edmentum.
Students who do not have a 3 for one of the units can continue using the Retake Agenda to practice their skills.
