SCHS Safety Report
On November 16th students and staff had a serious discussion about the response to an aggressor / active shooter on the SCHS Campus or in the building. Teachers and students reviewed the classroom and adjacent spaces, considering how to better secure the classroom, confront an attacker, or how and where to evacuate. The conversations were serious and all involved participated effectively. Recently, all ECSD employees completed A.L.I.C.E training. A.L.I.C.E. is an acronym for Alert - Lockdown - Inform - Counter - Evacuate. Information from that training was the basis for the November 16th classroom conversations. SCHS practices safety on a daily basis. Exterior doors are secured, classroom doors are locked, regular building & parking lot checks are made, and a communication plan is in place. Equally important to the security measures, SCHS intentionally and systematically works to provide information and programming that builds a positive culture. Those efforts are spearheaded by the very active SCHS Student Council. In the end, safety, security & positive school culture requires everyone's contribution.

For the first time, all SCHS Parent / Teacher Conferences were pre-scheduled and held in the Teacher's classrooms. The reasons for this change were to provide more privacy to parents/families and to improve the experience by presenting the classroom and the building as your student experiences it. Any time a change is made there will be some disruption. The feedback has been very positive and our teachers have been given all of the responses to this survey. Please remember that parents may contact teacher's at any time to discuss a student's progress. Access your student's teacher's email via Skyward Family Access.
