ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: BILL TWINING
Bill attended Elida Elementary from kindergarten to 5th grade and he says that it is an honor to be helping to construct the new building, all these years later. "It's an honor to be a part of this great project, to have roots here and have a connection. I am proud to be involved."
Bill says he remembers Mr. Pauff (Asst Principal) and Mr. Streyer (Principal) at the elementary. In high school, Bill played football his freshman year and one of his favorite teachers was Mr. Bob Komarek (Mechanical Drawing teacher) who was a great influence to the work he does today. " We'd draw blue prints and 3D parts and this was all before computers, no CAD." Bill also remembers Mr. Sam Boyer, of course, his Driver's Ed instructor, who also taught his children.
Bill says the new Elida Elementary project has been great, with a lot of good people to work with, from all the different trades. "In the beginning, there were 50 crew members each day working on the masonry, now we average about 17 per day." One of his favorite people he works with is his son, Drew, who is also on the Peterson Construction crew.
"It's always great to see what you've built, and when you hit each milestone, it's gratifying."
