Stone Bank School
Reaching Out ~ September 9,2016
From the Principal
I hope the first few days of school have been positive for all of our families. Our students seem to have easily settled back into the routine. It's so good to have all of their smiling faces back in the building each day.
You may recall that last spring parents were asked to engage in a survey to help us determine our areas of strengths and opportunities for growth. Our next step is to utilize that feedback to develop action plans for improvement. I'm looking for 2 or 3 parent volunteers to help us examine the results in order for us prioritize our next steps. Time commitment is relatively short, 1 or 2 evening meetings at the most. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Magnuson in the main office at k.magnuson@stonebank.k12.wi.us.
Welcome to all of our new Stone Bank families. We are excited to have so many new families join our school community. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions, or concerns at any time throughout the year.
Attendance
Illness:
Please call the office by 8:00am to excuse your child when they're ill. Students who have been ill for three or more days need to submit a doctor's excuse following their absence.
Family Vacations:
Please notify the main office if your child will be absent due to a family vacation. Parents/students should work with their teachers to make arrangements for schoolwork missed during their absence.
In accordance with Wisconsin State Law, Section 118.15, all students are required to attend school regularly on a consistent and timely basis. If a student is absent from school without an acceptable excuse for part or all of five or more days per semester, a petition may be filed with the juvenile system.
Bus Notes
If you have concerns about your child's bus route, please contact school if your concern is related to student behavior. If you have questions or concerns about the route, please contact Dousman Transportation at 262-966-9690.

PBIS T-Shirts
If you haven’t purchased a t-shirt for your child yet, please do so ASAP. The link to the order form can be found on the Stone Bank Schools website under the announcement tab. Students will be asked to wear their t-shirts on special days during the school year, such as quarterly assemblies and other special events. Parents will be notified in advance so that all children remember to wear their shirts. We are strongly encouraging that every student has one of our PBIS t-shirts to present school wide unity. They are only $5.00 each! Please send this order form with cash or checks made payable to Stone Bank School ASAP. Put all children on this one order form. Middle school children can turn them into their advisor. Thanks!

Stone Bank Band Department
Greetings from the Band Room!
We have an exciting year planned and I'm looking forward to performing some great music with our fantastic bands. A special highlight this year is a TBD performance by our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders of the National Anthem at a Milwaukee Wave game. All 5th grade students are invited and encouraged to participate in our beginning band. We learn a lot about music and have lots of fun! Please contact me with any questions at j.lovas@stonebank.k12.wi.us

G9 ~ Gold in September
In order to support G9 (Gold in September), an organization raising awareness for childhood cancer, that began in Hartland, the student council will be having a "Gold" day. This means that students and staff should wear gold on Thursday, September 15th. This is also Bagels with Buds day. The proceeds from Bagels with Buds will be given to G9 this month. There will also be a Gold Out football game at Arrowhead on Friday night to support the same organization.
