Ms. Trisolini's Weekly Update
January 17th - 21st
Our week in review:
In language arts we introduced the vowel "O". We practiced both the long and short sounds. We created an anchor chart with all the words we could think of that had that beginning sound. We also discussed how many words have short "o" in the middle, and we can remember that when we sound out words in writing.
We also added four new sight words to our list: of, on, here, got
We continued our language arts unit about being healthy. We read a book called Get Up and Go. We learned about different ways to get exercise and how exercise is good for our bodies. We also brought this into our writing, discussing what we can do if we do not know a lot about a topic. We can do research! We came up with questions we may ask when doing research on a topic.
In math, we completed our unit on teen numbers. Graded tests will be coming home soon. Next week we will be starting our next unit, counting to 100!
