Teaching Assistant Recruitment
Do you have a Bachelor's Degree? Or an Associate's Degree? Or 60 semester hours of college coursework? You could be a Teaching Assistant with District 204. Teaching Assistants are perfect if you want to work full-time school hours and receive benefits. The District is now accepting applications, screening applicants and hiring individuals to start right away. To learn more about becoming a Teaching Assistant or to apply now.

Costumes
Please practice putting on costumes at home prior to the big day. Some assistance will be provided if needed but students should be as independent as possible with costumes.
Please observe the following guidelines for costumes:
- Students are not to wear costumes to school at the beginning of the day (including make-up or hair dye); time will be provided to change into costumes before the parade.
- Costumes should be school appropriate and meet all of the District 204 Dress Code Guidelines. Keep our youngest Patriots in mind when planning for your school costume.
- Sharp objects (i.e. wooden swords, etc.) and play weapons may NOT be part of any costume.
Parade
NEW ROUTE FOR 2019!!! See picture below.
The parade will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. Please arrive early to find a space along our route. Families who miss the parade will not be able to enter the building for pictures so be on time with your camera ready!
In the event of rain, the parade will be indoors and pass through the Kendall Gym for families. Families will enter and exit through the exterior gym doors. Students will enter and exit through the interior gym doors.
Parties
Our Kendall PTA has worked to create fun fall activities for each grade level classroom. Parties will take place from 2:15-3:00.
School Attendance
Dear Families,
School attendance is essential to academic success. Did you know that absenteeism in the first month of school can predict attendance throughout the school year? Research shows that half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school by the end of the year. (attendanceworks.org) Remember any lost class time, whether excused or unexcused results in missed learning opportunities. Help your children develop positive habits for attendance from an early age!
Third-Party Educational Programs
The following companies have rented space in our schools to offer an after-school educational program for students. The distribution of this material is in no way an endorsement of programs, services, activities or products by District 204. For more information about the programs listed below, visit:

McTeacher’s Night Thank You
Thank you, thank you, thank you for coming out to McDonald’s on Thursday evening and making this event a huge success! The PTA is thrilled to report that Kendall families generously donated $914.67 in tips and for pies alone! This amount does not even include the $727.21 that McDonald’s will give back to our PTA for food sales! Please join us in thanking the teachers and staff at Kendall who generously gave of their time and energy to serve our students! This fundraiser would certainly not have been as successful without their participation!
Fun Run Volunteers Needed!
Kendall’s annual Fun Run, the PTA’s largest fundraiser of the year, will be held on Friday, October 18th from 4:30-7:00 p.m.!
