Principal's Message
Our Read-A-Thon was a great success! I will have the final numbers, earnings and winners next week but what I do know is that our students spent a lot of extra time reading these last two weeks! We know that increased reading also means an increase in vocabulary knowledge, comprehension, fluency and often assessment results! Perhaps the most important part of the Read-A-Thon for me is that this would be one more way to encourage your child to grow a thirst for the adventure and fun they will find in books and reading! Thank you for your support at home with collecting donations and reading each night.
Our volleyball season is underway! Ms. Fogleman, our volleyball coach, has had several practices the last couple weeks to prepare for the first games of the season. Come support our Sequoia Giants volleyball team for their first game on Thursday, March 14th at 4:15 in the Sequoia MPR.
Just a reminder that we will hold a Construction Information Night for parents on March 14th at 5:30 in the Library (Location change due to the volleyball game in the MPR). This meeting is meant to give parents information about preliminary plans for construction that will be happening at Sequoia in the next 1-2 years, answer questions and get feedback. The monthly SPC meeting will follow at 6:30pm.
Lastly, in order to get a full picture of enrollment for next year, we are asking that families let us know now if they will NOT be returning to Sequoia for the 2019-20 school year. Below is an enrollment withdrawal form that must be turned in to the office by March 15th. These forms are also available in the front office. If you do not fill out a form your child will automatically be enrolled for the 2019-2020 school year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Clark
