SMART PHONE & SOCIAL MEDIA AWARENESS NIGHT
Join us for an important presentation on Smartphone and Social Media Safety for elementary and middle school students. This ADULT ONLY event will take place on Monday, October 2nd at 6:30pm in the Huber Street School Gymnasium. Parents/Guardians from Huber Street School, Clarendon School, and Secaucus Middle School are invited to attend.
While the subject matter is directed toward parents/guardians of students in grades 3 through 8, we welcome all parents/guardians who are interested in attending to join us. Any parents bringing children will not be admitted into the event due to the adult nature of what is being discussed. We appreciate your cooperation. We look forward to seeing you there.
ELEMENTARY EXPRESS WITH MS. LOTT
A new feature for our Huber Street School Newsletter will be the Elementary Express with Ms. Lott. Ms. Felicia Lott is the Supervisor of Elementary Education and she works with faculty, staff, and students in the Millridge School, Huber Street School, and Clarendon School.

COUNSELOR'S CORNER WITH MS. VIGGIANO
We have already begun our Paws Points program to recognize students who are going out of their way to show kindness and respect towards others. The goals of our program are to practice having a positive attitude, acting responsibility, working and playing safely and showing respect. It is a fun way to recognize children who are making a difference in our school!
WEEK OF RESPECT
Every year, during the first week of October, students around the state of New Jersey celebrate the Week of Respect to inspire students to be good citizens and to not be a bully.
In the State of New Jersey, we recognize School Violence Awareness Week. This week affords a school the opportunity to discuss violence prevention and school safety.
Ice Cream Social
Join our PTA on Friday, September 29th (from 5:30 P.M. - 6:30 P.M.) in the Huber Street School Courtyard for the PTA Ice Cream Social. Meet our Executive Board and discuss upcoming events. The PTA will be giving out a voucher for one small soft serve ice cream cone from Mike's Ice Cream. We hope to see you there.
The Huber Street School PTA will be hosting their annual Pumpkin Patch at both Huber Street School and the Millridge School on Monday, October 16th. In conjunction with Mayor Mike Gonnelli and the Secaucus Town Council, every student at Millridge and Huber Street will get to pick their own pumpkin to take home. Thank you Mayor Mike, Town Council, and to our PTA!

FIELD OF FLAGS
In honor of Veteran’s Day, the 5th grade class at Huber Street School would like to thank our veterans with a “Field of Flags” tribute on our front grounds. We are asking our Huber Families to sponsor a flag to be displayed on the lawn. Each flag will be a $2 donation (you may sponsor more than one flag) and all proceeds will go to our local veterans at the VFW and American Legion. Each honoree's name will be displayed.
