Important Club information
This week was our kickoff for clubs and academic advising. Below is important information for both Academic Advisors and Club Sponsors to consider:
Academic Advisors:
- Students in your advising class are there for a variety of reasons. Please do not assume they have been placed with you due to failing grades.
- The intention of academic advising is to provide additional time based on area of need. As a result, these groups will become fluid. Meaning soon we will begin sending students to specific advisors based on content area need.
- Please explain to the students the behavioral expectations and steps followed based on our PBIS system.
Club Sponsors/Co-Sponsors:
- Please direct club information to club sponsors and "cc" co-sponsors.
- If you are collecting monies for your club please communicate to students that you are collecting dues. Those monies need to be turned into Lorraine the day they are collected.
Teacher Mentoring Info
- New Teacher Mentoring info (click link for ALL forms, directions and lists)
- The 2017-2018 mentor logs located in myPGS should be accessed and utilized to document weekly interactions between mentors and mentees.
- Administrators have view access of the logs and are asked to periodically review to ensure that the logs are being completed (directions for this at link above). Mentor stipends are paid contingent upon the logs being completed and document weekly interactions.
- Please note that the mentee must go into their mypgs account and click start plan before the mentor will be able to access the log. In addition, if a mentor/mentee pairing is canceled at any time, the administrator will need to document that in the log.
- As always, if you have any questions, please contact Jenny Rinck in OPDSS at jrinck@pasco.k12.fl.us

Student Services Referral
Our Student Services Team Referral is now available for you to access in the link below. This referral is to be used by any staff member who has a concern for one of our students. Concerns regarding academics, behavior, attitude/mood changes, attendance, health issues, and so forth are to be reported on this form. Once you click submit, the referral will be sent to the team. We will discuss and address your referral at our weekly Student Services Team Meeting, which are held every Tuesday at 12:50 PM. In My EWS, the team will document non-confidential information about the student who was referred. In addition to this documentation, a Student Services Team member will also speak personally to the staff member who made a referral about the student, the action plan determined to address the student’s need(s), and the outcome. Please use this form immediately when you have a concern about one of our coyotes. It is a means for us to identify students who need various types of support. By utilizing this tool, we can serve all of our students’ needs.
