Volunteer Opportunities
Peirce and the 48th Ward’s Clean and Green Day
April 27, 10am-12pm
Peirce is participating in the 48th Ward’s Annual Clean and Green Event to clean and beautify our school. Come out and join us! Outside we will collect trash, and rake and shovel leaves; adults and kids are all welcome. Inside we will be supporting the bathroom painting project to continue to beautify the bathroom stall doors (adults only for this part, please). Coffee, juice and other delicious treats will be on hand for all volunteers. Meet us on the playground and we will get you started! Following the event, free hot dogs and an Earth Day celebration will take place at Senn High School at noon, hosted by the 48th Ward. All are welcome to join. To sign-up to volunteer, click here.
Teacher Appreciation Breakfast
May 7, 7:30am
On the morning of Tuesday May 7 the Peirce Service Organization (PSO) will roll through the Peirce hallways offering breakfast cart service to teachers/staff. We will have a buffet set up near the office and will also be delivering food door to classroom door. Please contribute food, money, or time to make this event a success. Because we are taking food to teacher classrooms, individually packaged items are encouraged. Please deliver your contributions to the school at 7:30 am if possible. Contributions can also be left in labeled containers ("PSO bfast") in the refrigerator of the teachers' lounge on Monday May 6. Sign up here.
Library Helpers
Dr. Terzian has requested ongoing help in the library throughout the week with tasks such as shelving and checking in books. Training will be provided. Shifts are short, 40-45 minutes either after drop-off or before pickup. Volunteers must be at least a Level 2 volunteer. PLEASE NOTE: If you would like to help but have availability other than what is listed on the SignUp, please email Dr. Terzian directly at smterzian@cps.edu and she will gladly coordinate a different time with you. For more information and to sign up to help, please visit this SignUp Genius link.
