Subitizing...a new little idea

In TYC (Teaching Young Children) this month, they have a TON of ideas for simple math games....many of which you are doing regularly. MANY of you use the subitizing cards daily, MANY of you have kids match those cards to fingers....but has anyone had the kids "COPY THE DOTS"?

1.Give each child one large dot card (or present one at circle for all) and a blank card the same size with a handful of tokens (usually a few more than they need).

2. Have children re-create their dot card using the tokens on the blank card.

Patterning: a base level introduction is song, "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes"...we knew there was more than a few reasons we love that song!!

Our world can use a little kindness and our spirits can use a little boost.

The most powerful way to increase your short-term feelings of happiness is to perform random acts of kindness to others.

November is a great time to let others know that you are THANKFUL for THEM!!
