WJES Paw Prints
THANK YOU!!!!
WOW! What another great week at WJES!!! We have a plethora of reasons to celebrate this week. We managed to decrease our car rider duty time to 24 minutes, we kicked off our Boosterthon fundraiser, you completed your TKES pre-evaluation conference, we survived our second week of school, and many more!
Here are a few reminders: please email GLP/Data team minutes to Karen each week, please do not leave hallway doors open when your class is at recess, and please remind students not to open doors to let parents inside the building (all parents need to check in at the front desk).
We enjoyed our classroom visits this week. The students are getting a handle on procedures, routines, and expectations. Continue to think of ways to incorporate critical and creative thinking to challenge our learners (resources below)! We look forward to visiting your classrooms this week and seeing the learning opportunities you are providing for your students. As always, thank you for your dedication and commitment each and every day!!!!

Panther News
The Panther News for the week of August 24, 2015 is included here. If you have any questions or if there is anything we can do to help, please let us know.
Teacher Handbook
Click here to access the Teacher Handbook. Once you have read the Teacher Handbook, you can sign off on the Jackson County Compliance Directors modules, as the handbook is one of the documents required before completing the module. If you need directions on how to access the Compliance Directors modules, click here. The Emergency Management Plan is another document included in the JC module, if you need us to send it again, please email Mr. Canupp. This is a friendly reminder that all Compliance Director modules are due on Friday, August 28th.
Performance Series
The Performance Series window opens Monday, August 24th and closes November 20th. All Kindergarten and 1st grade students will take Reading Foundations and Math. All 2nd - 5th grade students will take Reading, ELA, and Math. Each assessment should take approximately 25 minutes; JC plans to administer the express version again this year. The Performance Series website is http://www.performanceseries.com/. Then, students click on student login. The site ID and login ID are as follows:
Site ID: 81-8674-7240
Student ID: 0 + lunch number
As of now, you will not be able to view the Performance Series results (we are in the process of merging WJPS and WJIS accounts and teachers are not assigned yet); however, you can email Melissa Peek, and she can print out data for the whole grade level. There is a sign up sheet taped to the window in the computer lab. Feel free to sign up for times that work best with your schedule. Andrea Waldrip is working on creating an online sign up, and she will send that out when it is finalized.

Depth of Knowledge
One of our SIP goals is to utilize higher order thinking skills to increase student achievement. The documents included here are resources that can assist with higher order thinking, as well as Depth of Knowledge (DOK) Level 3 and 4 questions and activities. Thank you for incorporating questions and activities that encourage our students to think on a deeper level to ensure student learning is academically challenging.
Georgia Milestones
The GaDOE has communicated the achievement levels for EOC and EOG. Click here for guidance on achievement levels.
