Gayman's Gift Card Drive
Tis the season of giving: Consider sending in a gift card to a local family in need.
Our giving tree is on display in our main office. For every gift card turned in, a tag will be added to our tree. Help us decorate the tree with kindness!
Gayman's Gift Card Drive will occur now until December 15th. There is a collection box in the main office entrance. Families are welcome to send in gift cards with students or drop them off at their convenience, such as during the Materials Distribution on December 9th.
Thank you for your generosity!
Warmest holiday wishes to you and your family,
The Staff of Gayman Elementary School
Send in your Yearbook Photos
To capture the hard work of every Gayman student, we have created a Forms Survey for you to upload pictures of your student(s) at work and play. To access this Forms Survey, please follow the link and login through your student’s CBSD login.
This survey will be updated each month with new events for you to upload your photos. For this month, please upload any photos from Halloween or Thanksgiving that you would like to be shared in the yearbook.
Please keep in mind that these photos will be shared with families through our yearbook.
Thank you for helping us share in your child’s memories! Please email Jennifer Kersey, teacher and liaison to the GHSA Yearbook Committee, jkersey@cbsd.org with any questions.
"Drive By" Book Exchange
KIds Care Club
We will have our first ever remote club. Although we can't meet in person, we can still show we care and support our local community!
Normally this time of year we would throw a great holiday brunch for the residents of Pine Run Nursing Home. It is the highlight of the year for them and our KCC families as well. The residents would love getting cards from the students! They are only able to eat outside their rooms, so the cards will be put on their tables to give them some cheer.
Details:
What: Holiday cards or crafts for Pine Run residents
When: Now through Monday, December 14th
Drop off: Orford House. 3819 Charter Club Drive (labeled bin will be in the garage from 8a-8p daily)
Thank you! Any questions please reach out to Caroline at theorfords1@yahoo.com

Questions about COVID-19 Exposure?
As the COVID cases rise in the community, the Central Bucks Nurses are working extra hard to keep track of any student that has been in close contact with a positive person. If you find out someone you know tests positive, please let me know and I can help you determine the next steps. It can be tricky to determine if you or your child is considered a close contact, so I am here to help!
If at any time you have questions regarding the COVID isolation and quarantine process, please contact me. I would be happy to discuss the situation with you and assess it based on the Department of Health guidelines.
If your child has symptoms, your first step is always to contact the Primary Care Provider for guidance regarding testing and symptom management. Please feel free to contact me directly for further guidance on your next steps after speaking with the Primary Care Provider.
Sincerely,
Sara Hedges: Gayman School Nurse - shedges@CBSD.org
Universal Masking Orders Update
The secretary of health has directed that everyone should wear an appropriate face covering, both indoors and outdoors.
While the commonwealth’s order allows for the wearing of a face shield, the secretary’s orders clearly state that a face shield should be considered only if the wearing of a cloth face covering is otherwise not possible. Please visit the commonwealth’s website for more detailed information.

The holidays can already be a financially difficult time for some families - now with COVID-19, it is expected that even more families will be effected this year.
If your family, or you know of a family who is homeless or being evicted, please call Bucks County Housing Link at 1-800-810- 4434. Families can also call for financial assistance if they are struggling with their housing bills.

Family Travel Approval Form
This holiday season, some Gayman families may choose to travel to see family and friends.
Per our school district's Health and Safety Plan, students may not attend school in-person for 14 days from the date on which they return from travel. Click here to access the Family Travel Approval Request.
Live Streaming for Extended Absences
Virtual instruction is available for any student who is absent more than 2 days. While this instruction may vary slightly depending upon the academic needs and age of the student, there are some common factors.
Once a teacher is notified, we will begin making arrangements which may include a materials pick-up at school. Knowing that teacher notification and developing an instructional plan may require some time, live streaming will begin on day 3 of the absence, or earlier if feasible. Students will live-stream into the classroom for core subjects and specials. It is important to note that live-steaming will look different from virtual instruction. Knowing that the majority of students are in-person, there will be times when the teacher is not in camera view. While this live streaming arrangement cannot match the conditions of in-person instruction, our goal is to keep our students connected to the classroom.
Please contact your child's teacher and Christine Stevens at cstevens@cbsd.org to arrange for a materials distribution, as well as access to virtual instruction.
Absences from School and Online
Online Absences: If a student does not attend class, the student will be marked absent until we receive the communication from parents. Note: If a student logs-in initially, but leaves the call or does not engage, the comment "Virtually Cut" will be added to the comments section.
Feel free to reach out to Christine Stevens (cstevens@cbsd.org) in the Gayman office with any questions.
