The Twelfth Man
This tradition allows one average student to take the field with the Team Football Players. The student starts off on the kick off team, and has the potential to come in at any point in the game if needed. This tradition started January of 1922 when the coach called a player down from the press box who was not a football player that year but only a basket ball player. the significance of this tradition is that the man called down, came to serve his team in a time of need.
Aggie Bonfire
The Aggie Bonfire is a massive annual bon fire that is lit every year before the rival game against UT. The only year it wasn't lit was the Year Kennedy was assassinated. The bon fire started in 1909. The Fire symbolizes the burring passion of aggies to beat UT.
Midnight Yell
The midnight yell is when everyone meets before a game and screams battle chants to get pumped up before the big game. This tradition began in 1931 at the YMCA building. Today the midnight yell is held at Kyle filed on Thursday nights before Away games. The purpose of the yell is to pump up the twelfth man.
