May 2022 Newsletter
Dear Anna Merritt Teachers:
I just wanted to let you know how much of an impact you've had on our students' lives. It takes strength and integrity to stand and be a leader of the youth of our nation. Our children and families will never forget you and the lessons you have taught them. Thank you for following your heart and giving us inspiration.

Spring Learning
Fourth grade artists studied Pablo Picasso, focusing on his Blue Period and cubism (paintings that show objects from many angles at once). Using shapes, the students drew a guitar and then chose a monochromatic color scheme. | First grade students in Mrs. Rudz's class are learning how to care for their planet. Students learned the importance of reusing and recycling items by reusing paper towel rolls to create bird feeders! | Students celebrated NYS Agricultural Literacy Week with a presentation by volunteers from the Niagara County Farm Bureau. Students read the story "Farmer Will Allen and the Growing Table", by Jacqueline Briggs Martin, then explored vermicomposting; the use of earthworms to convert organic waste into fertilizer. |
