Dear West TV Families,
All our staff is enormously grateful for the traditional Thanksgiving PIE DAY! Because of your generosity several staff members were able to take home two pies this year. It is a wonderful and uniquely West TV way of saying "thank you" to our staff. Thank YOU for your kindness.

Physical Education
Students have been working on their hand eye coordination, reaction time, catching and throwing the last couple weeks. We will be spending the remainder of the 2017 year applying our skills in various throwing and catching activities and games. Mr. Martinez let us to borrow the floor fans, which allowed us to catch floating scarves in the air, and use hovering beach balls as targets. Moving numbers projected on to the wall infused math concepts into our throwing station. Third, fourth and fifth graders did an amazing job during their peer assessments on correct throwing form, and we have seen a great improvement across all grade levels. Students were able to take a variety of different exercise and create winter themed versions of the exercises. Their communication, creativity, and cooperation was great. The results were very enjoyable.
As winter break arrives, make sure to keep your child(ren) (and the rest of the family) moving every day. Elementary children should be physically active for sixty minutes a day. Three great resources to get physical activity ideas from are: https://stampsy.com/bsd-brainboost http://www.playworks.org/ and asking your child what activities they have learned in PE that they can do at home. We talk about ways to modify each activity to make it possible to do at home.
If your child is unable to tie his/her own shoes, please continue practicing with them.
