The Language of BAE.....
CAT Tickets - CAT stands for Caught Acting Terrifically. The CAT tickets are how we reward and provide feedback to students for following the 4 Behavioral expectations at school - Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Problem Solver. Students put their name on the back of their CAT tickets, then turn them in for drawings for books and other prizes.
PBIS - Stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. This is the foundation for our school's behavioral expectations. Following the PBIS model, our school teaches appropriate/expected behaviors, we practice and review through the year, we provide feedback to students who follow these expectations, we intervene to re-teach and practice when students show that they need our help to demonstrate these expectations, and we reward and celebrate when we meet these expectations. Following PBIS makes our school a great place to learn and play!
The 4 Be's - Our quick way to refer to our expectations to Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Problem Solvers.
Kid Mail - This means that information will be sent home and back to school through the child's backpack. So if you get something from school or PTO, and we say to return the form using "Kid Mail", that means to send it in your child's folder and the teacher will make sure it gets where it needs to.
If there are other terms that you don't understand, please ask! We want to make sure that all of our families are able to be a part of everything we do at BAE!
Conversations In Space....
Shed The Excess Threads Clothes Bin Challenge
Please take the time to go through closets, storage, drawers etc in search of the following items that you are ready to discard:
Clothing, towels, blankets, sheets, rags, pillows, shoes...
You don't have to worry about the condition...we take everything! What can be immediately donated will, and what cannot be donated will be re-purposed so that these items don't end up in a landfill.
We have a great opportunity to help our community, our environment, but also to earn a little extra money for our school district!
This long weekend would be a great time to work with your child to clean out those excess items!
Donations accepted and tallied starting February 18 - March 27!
Simply drop off at the white bin at the front of the side lane of our school.
From the Art Room!
It’s the busiest time of year in the art room. The district Fine Arts show is coming up quickly, Feb 28-Mar 1, at Sycamore High School!
About 200 Blue Ash Elementary artists will have artwork on display among the 2000+ pieces!!
I will be notifying parents via email if your BAE student has artwork in the show.
The event kicks off with an opening night expo on Feb. 28, from 5-7pm. The opening event includes free refreshments, art demos and studio tours. We hope to see you there!
Student Information Form for 2020-2021 Placement
While considering your child’s learning characteristics and social interaction style, your child’s current teachers will be carefully placing your child in a friendly, collaborative group with other children with whom he/she works well. Parent input is important to us during this process.
If you would like your child to be placed with a specific peer, or have specific input you would like to share, please complete the form via the link below.
Every effort will be made to place your child with one of the students listed below. Please list six names to ensure a classroom placement with a peer. If fewer than six names are provided, the likelihood of your child being placed with a peer listed is decreased.
*In an effort to maintain balanced classrooms, requests for specific teachers cannot be considered.
For this information to be included in the placement process, form must be complete by March 23, 2020.
