Writer's Workshop
Encourage your son/daughter to write their own personal narrative at home!
Reader's Workshop
We talked a lot about Important Events within our Star books this week! When reading at home, ask questions like: What's important on this page? What is not so important? After reading, what was the most important part of the book?
Next week, we begin our next unit of study about revisiting songs, poems, nursery rhymes
and favorite big books to practice print strategies and fluent reading. This is a GREAT time to start re-reading old nursery rhymes :)
Math
- Practiced Tricky Number Stories (Maya had 2 rocks, Diego gave her rocks and now she has 5. How many rocks did Diego give Maya?)
- Graphed Pattern Blocks
- Played a "ten bean spill" game where they added up to 10.
- Identified shapes
- Worked on Number Writing
