Principal's Message
Hello Wolfpack!
Each week that I write this I am reminded of how fortunate I am to serve this amazing community. One Pack Day is a student organized, student run afternoon and serves as a shining example of community building around difficult conversations. Students engaged in three rotations. In the commons, students expressed themselves with art projects. I saw many eclectic groups sitting together getting to know each other. In the gym, students circled into advisory classes and shared two truths and a wish. Both of these stations support the data that students who know facts about each other are less likely to engage in bullying behavior and more likely to step in to stop bullying behavior. The final rotation occurred in our theater. Here students were educated on mental health and the resources available to them here at NCHS.
This morning KHQ News was here to deliver our Spirt Award. When asked why we are so successful, senior Kelsie Delp responded, “We lead with kindness.” This summarizes why we are successful.
Hoping every student had a great first week of second semester!
The strength of the wolf is in the pack.

KHQ Most Spirited Award
This week, anchors Sam Adams and Kalae Chock from KHQ stopped by North Central to present the trophy for KHQ’s Most Spirited Award. Watch for the presentation on tonight's nightly news! Thanks to the many community members who voted in the competition and supported our school!
After presenting the award, our KHQ anchors stuck around to visit a classroom and give students the chance to meet their favorite anchors.
Senior Pep Band
On Tuesday, we honored our senior pep band members at their last performance at a sporting event of their high school career. Our band won’t be the same without them! Thank you being an invaluable part of our band family, and we wish you luck in your future endeavors!
Announcements and Events
First Semester Report Cards
First Semester grades are finalized and Report Cards are posted in PowerSchool. They will also be emailed out to all parents on Monday. Due to a technical glitch, all students’ Quarter 1 grades were inadvertently overwritten with their Quarter 2 grade instead. When looking in PowerSchool, the same grade will now be listed for both Quarter 1 and Quarter 2. The grades posted to transcripts and shared with colleges are the semester grades, which are still accurate and are based on the original Quarter 1 grades stored in October. We apologize for this error and any confusion it may cause. We recommend looking at the semester grades as the most accurate picture of student progress.
Creative Writing Workshops
Creative Writing Workshop and Voices will be hosting creative writing workshops on Mondays in room N345 from 2:45-4:00. This is a chance to work on your writing, workshop with others and submit for publication. Contact Mary Fruchter, maryfr@spokaneschools.org with questions.
