"Bloom Where You Are Planted"

News from the Principal

Greetings Knight Families,

Our first Knighting Ceremony was a great success! It is nice to bring back this tradition and honor our students. Thank you family members who were able to attend and support their students being recognized. We look forward to our next ceremony in December.

Our first musical of the year, Pirates! The Musical, will be performed on October 20th at 6:00 in the cafeteria. We would love to have all attend and support our choristers!

Parent conferences are in full swing and we have had a great turnout of parents. If you haven't signed up for a conference yet it is not too late. Come and celebrate the progress that your child has made and make a plan for continued success this year.

Lost and Found is in the cafeteria this year and the rack is already full! As "real" Fall weather is approaching, the jackets will definitely be needed soon.

BOA information for 5th grade parents- Kendall will be attending BOA January 11th-13th at HEB Camp Echo Valley. Registration information will be sent out soon but we wanted to get the dates on your calendar.

Enjoy your weekend,

Jennifer Escamilla- Kendall Elementary Principal

Knighting Ceremonies

Knights on duty

Knights on Duty- If you would like to volunteer to be extra eyes and ears on campus fill out the Sign Up Genius form. On your duty day, please check in at the front office where you will be given a badge and schedule for the day.

It is our goal that students be in school unless they are sick or there is an emergency. If students must be absent ensure that a doctor's excuse or note from parents explaining the reason for absence is turned into the front office with Michelle Toczynski. Excuses can also be e-mailed to

We will be implementing various measures to follow-up with students on absences this school year, they are as follows:

  • Phone call home from teacher at 3 absences.
  • Teacher will conference with student at 5 absences.
  • Phone call home from administration at 8 absences.
  • Attendance letter sent home and parent conference with administration at 10 absences.

It is imperative that students be present whenever possible, when students are absent or tardy they are missing out on instructional minutes.
