Microsoft Office 365
Central Bucks School District has partnered with Microsoft to offer Microsoft Office 365 to students in Grades 5-12. Office 365's productivity suite enables students and teachers to share documents, access Microsoft software applications online and work collaboratively. As the district increases both teacher and student access to educational technology, we wanted to remind you of a great opportunity.
Microsoft Office is available free for students in grades 5-12. Students may want to take the opportunity to install the full Office applications on up to 5 PCs, Macs or tablets for free. This includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. Students can learn more about the process here: http://www.cbsd.org/365
Once downloaded, students can work with classmates online and see each other's changes in real time with Office Online, the full version of Office or OneDrive.
Pop-Up Boutique by Hannah Sexton
Hannah Sexton, CB West Junior, successfully opened a “pop-up boutique” at Buck’s County Housing Group’s Doylestown shelter over the winter break. After collecting clothing donations from the community, Hannah created a true shopping experience to girls her age. The shopping experience in her boutique was truly exceptional. Visitors were able to browse through the many articles of clothing, receive shopping assistance from Hannah and her friends, and even try on the clothing. Visitors from all over Bucks County stopped by the boutique. Due to its success, Hannah hopes to open another “pop-up boutique” later this year.
Congratulations, Hannah! CB West is PROUD!

Hour of Code
The Hour of Code is a one-hour activity sponsored by Code.org to introduce students to computing. On Tuesday, December 8, 2015, members of Lenape’s IT-Kids came up to CB West to spend an hour coding. They chose from a variety of tutorials (Minecraft, Star Wars, and Frozen) designed to introduce them to the basics of computing. IT-Kids is a technology club organized and run by West’s computer gurus, Gabby and Leilani Peralta. The students went home with certificates, stickers, and big smiles!
Good Luck Christian DeAngelis!
Indoor Track & Field: The Winter track season is well under way and both teams have been enjoying much success! Cheer: The girls are getting into the toughest part of their season in January. They have a PIAA District 1 championship competition this Saturday at CB South. They look to gain a bid to the upcoming state championship competition in Hershey later this month.
· The boy’s team enjoyed much success in their holiday tournament in Nashville Tennessee. They were the tournament's runner up. They also defeated Hatboro-Horsham Tuesday night and look forward to their match up with district rival CB East this Friday night.
· The girls spent part of their holiday break in Virginia competing in the Boo Williams tournament. They suffered a few losses in the tournament but continue to battle through injuries. They defeated Hatboro-Horsham on Tuesday night. The girls travel to CB East for an exciting match-up this Friday night.
Wrestling: The boys keep working hard each week preparing for league matches and weekend tournaments. They have a few key injuries right now but hope to get those guys back for the final weeks of the season.
