School Messenger
Dear PS 68 Families,
PS 68-Port Richmond School for Visionary Learning now has "School Messenger", another way to communicate with our families. When you see the number 718-816-3377 calling, that would be us leaving families a message.
This system is also set up for attendance. If your child is absent, you will receive a call later in the day indicating that your child was not in school on that day.

Women's History Month
Here are some stories and facts:
https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/womens-history-month
PRE-K APPLICATIONS-DEADLINE APRIL 7, 2021
The pre-K application for the 2021-2022 school year is now open, and the deadline to apply is April 7, 2021! All New York City families with children born in 2017 can apply by submitting a pre-K application.
We encourage you to apply even if you are unsure of your plans for the fall! Children who attend pre-K get a strong start in school and life—they learn to problem-solve, ask questions, and explore the world around them. Now more than ever, Pre-K for All programs are here to provide children across the city with a safe, nurturing learning community.
Here’s how to get started:
- Create a MySchools account—learn how in this video. With MySchools you can explore your child’s pre-K options, add programs to your application, and apply—all in one place.
- If MySchools loads slowly on your first visit, don’t worry. Try refreshing the page or visiting the site at a later time. MySchools may experience high site traffic when the pre-K application opens.
- Pre-K admissions is not first come, first served. All applications submitted by the April 7 deadline will be treated the same.
- Learn more about pre-K admissions on our website. While you’re here, watch our video playlist: we’ll walk you through the pre-K admissions process.
You can apply to pre-K one of two ways:
- Online with MySchools. This option is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in English, Arabic, Bangla, Chinese, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu.
- By phone at 718-935-2009. Call us Monday through Friday, 8am – 6pm. Language supports are available by phone in more than 200 languages.
Questions? We’re here to help. Email us at ESEnrollment@schools.nyc.gov.
IF YOUR CHILD IS ALREADY ENROLLED IN PS 68 3K PROGRAM ,
YOU MUST STILL APPLY FOR OUR PRE-K PROGRAM
3K APPLICATIONS-DEADLINE APRIL 30, 2021
The 3-K application for the 2021-2022 school year is now open, and the deadline to apply is April 30, 2021! All New York City families with children born in 2018 can apply.
3-K programs help give children a strong start in school and life. No matter what learning looks like this fall, your child’s 3-K program will help them learn and grow this school year. There are two types of 3-K programs:
- 3-K for All. Families citywide can apply to 3-K for All programs, but seats are limited and residents of 3-K for All school districts have priority to attend programs in their own district. In fall 2021, 3-K for All programs will be offered in Districts 1, 4, 5, and 6 (Manhattan); 7, 8, 9, and 12 (Bronx); 14, 16, 19, 23, and 32 (Brooklyn); 27 and 29 (Queens); and 31 (Staten Island).
- 3-K Extended Day/Year and Head Start. In every district, there are 3-K programs available to families who qualify based on income and needs. These programs, including Head Start, are free or low cost and offer year-round care for up to 10 hours a day.
Here’s how to get started:
- Create a MySchools account—learn how in this video. With MySchools you can explore your child’s 3-K options, add programs to your application, and apply—all in one place.
- If MySchools loads slowly on your first visit, don’t worry. Try refreshing the page or visiting the site at a later time. MySchools may experience high site traffic when the 3-K application opens.
- 3-K admissions is not first come, first served. All applications submitted by the April 30 deadline will be treated the same.
- Learn more about 3-K admissions at nyc.gov/3K.While you’re here, watch our video playlist: we’ll walk you through the 3-K admissions process.
