The Sheep & the Eagle..
an analogy about school instruction delivery by RKT
Students Taking Academic Responsibility = S.T.A.R.
Educational Instruction delivery systems...
The Sheep and the Eagle...
Neither is better than the other, it is just a different role for the Instructor and the Student.
The paradigm shift is for both the Teacher and the student depending on past learning styles and delivery method.
Below are some thoughts and analogies to ponder...
Thus Differentiated Instruction...
RKT
The Sheep and Shepherd.
I beg of the thought in education where the
Shepherd = the Teacher the Instructor.
The student must follow the direction of the teacher in all subjects ,
"please turn to Chapter 2 page 35, do not go ahead only stay on the page I tell you"
This then could be frustrating for ...
The student who still does not understand chapter 1.
The student who is bored and frustrated because he is ready for chapter 4.
The student behind is brought along with the herd, if you will...
The student is co-dependent upon the teacher (The shepherd) for progress.
The Eaglet and Eagle
The Eagle (Parent / Instructor / Teacher / Facilitator)
Nurtures the Eaglet and forces the Eaglet out of the Nest and only catches the Eaglet if indeed he is falling.
I beg the thought then...
of a teacher taking the role of facilitator and support to the student, while creating a pathway of an Individualized Learning Plan that is specific to the student.
Empowering the student to take full responsibility for their education and progress.

We need our Students to... FLY LIKE AN EAGLE !
Question....
Does the Institution Create the Ignoramus?
What will happen when they get their diploma?
What will happen when they meet a challenge?
What will; happen when they have to figure out their own schedule?
What if.. Our students were empowered to be autodidacts ?
The Butterfly Defect??????
I present the concept in the webpage below for your consideration...
Who are You? What do you need to learn?
Are you a Sheep or an Eagle?
The sheep need a shepherd to tell them everything to do.
An eagle learns to fly and is on their own.
One is not better than another, it is the freedom that is different.
In your education do you need the shepherd or can you fly and do this on your own?
or perhaps a little of each...
Freedom is not free... Our Students are accountable...
Our Student needs to believe... I CAN FLY
What is your M.O. - Method of operating = Modus Operandi ?
