~ Please welcome Beverly Loken who will be here on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the month of January! She will be volunteering her time providing clerical support for the T-Plus Counseling Department. Beverly was a past MPS district employee. It will be great to have her in the building!
Community Breakfast
January 20th. 9 am in room c103
All staff and students are welcome to room c103 for breakfast. This has been a great opportunity for staff, and students to get to know each other better and build a great school community. The breakfast will be help every community based Friday in room c103 at 9am.
Donations of food, money and or helping prepare food are welcome.
We look forward to seeing you all on January 20th.

The expected dates for case managers to complete ESY planning are listed below.
Annual IEP meetings held during first semester:
- ESY Determination and ESY Plan should be completed by 1/26/17.
Annual IEP meetings held during second semester:
- ESY Determination and ESY Plan should be completed by
3rd quarter to the greatest extent possible.
The target date for completion of ESY Implementation Plans is 3/1/17. This includes parent confirmation of acceptance or denial of ESY service. For IEP meetings held during the 3rd quarter, the target completion date for ESY Implementation Plans is 4/28/16.
Dates for Cluster Site services:
Week 1 - July 10, 11, 12, 13
Week 2 - July 17, 18, 19, 20
Week 3 - July 24, 25, 26, 27
African American Family Involvement Day
Strong relationships built among students, families and staff lay the groundwork for successful futures. Our presence at African-American Family Involvement Day can greatly contribute to the event’s success. Together, we can improve student outcomes by building trust and offering support.
What: African-American Family Involvement Day
When: Monday, Feb. 13, 6-8 p.m.
Where: Roller Garden, 5622 W. Lake St., St. Louis Park
CBI Fridays
Teachers should be using these weeks to confirm the trips that we collaborated together to arrange.
The 2nd Semester CBI Plan is viewable on google docs in the CBI Friday Resources File)
If changes to the schedule need to be made during the confirmation process, change the trips on the sheet before the 20th.
Teachers will fill out paper copies of the bus requests and return them to Colleen so that the bus times are accurate for each field trip. Bus request forms will be distributed to teachers soon.

FOCUS: Addressing uncertainty in our world…and learning ways to BUILD COMMUNITY
· Students will learn how to influence their environment to feel safe and positive
· Students will learn ways to interact with others in positive ways –
(& how to deal with bullying)
· Student will learn communication skills, making decisions and understanding other people’s body language and behaviors
You will have a unique opportunity to learn about Upstream Arts and consider which of your students will most benefit from this exciting, interactive way to learn social and communication skills through music, art, dance, theater and poetry.
Seeking magazine donations!
Do you have a stack of magazines at your house waiting to be recycled or reread?
Please consider donating magazines of any genre (as long as school appropriate) for use with projects in our ongoing girls groups.
Magazines can be given to Laura or JoAnn.
Feel free to leave magazines in our mailbox or bring by their office(s). Donations by this Thursday would be much appreciated.
