Child Care Chalkboard

February 1-28

Theme of the Month: Dental Health Month

Lion's Vision Screening

A volunteer from the Lion's Club will be performing a quick vision screening on all children who are in attendance on the morning of Tuesday, February 6th. Please let your child's classroom teacher know if you do NOT want your child to participate in this screening.

Big Sky Pediatric Dentistry

On Friday, February 22 we will be visiting the dentist office. Each class will be going separately at the times listed in the field trip section. While there we learn about foods that are healthy for our teeth. They also explain proper brushing techniques and what will happen when they visit the dentist for a check-up.

Valentine's Day Parties

Each class will have their own party with the following plans:

RP: The teachers will provide appropriate treats sometime in the afternoon

WW: We will provide a sign-up form for those who would like to bring treats for our 10:00 party. You may send 16 Valentine's cards with your child's name in the "From" section. Please leave the "To" blank so that your child can pass them out.

BDC: We will provide a sign-up form for those who would like to bring treats for our 10:00 party. You may send 20 Valentine's cards with your child's name in the "From" section. Please leave the "To" blank so that your child can pass them out. This will be a Teddy Bear Picnic, so your child may bring a favorite Teddy bear or stuffed animal from home. This animal will sit beside your child for the party and then return home at the end of the day.

BH: We will provide a class list so that your child can fill in Valentine's Cards for friends. (There are a total of 25 children in our class.) You may also send enough treats for 15 children for our party at 10:00.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

A little one that just moved up to the Wiggleworm room was outside with the class. He was walking sideways along the edge of the playground. When the teacher asked him why he said, "Messy, messy." "What is 'messy, messy,'" she asked. "The snow is messy, messy!"

Cold & Flu Season--Sick Policy

For the protection of all the children, and our staff, your child should be kept at home if signs of illness are showing such as:

a. Temperature of 101 degrees or more (must be fever free without medication for 24 hours before returning)

b. Sore or discharging eyes, ears or throat

c. Intestinal disturbance, diarrhea, or vomiting (must be free of symptoms for 24 hours before returning)

Snow Days

Snow Closures: if the county declares "Emergency Travel Only" District #5, Trinity School and Child Care will be closed. You can tune your radio to KOFI (1180 AM) or Bee Broadcasting (98.5 FM, 105.1 FM, 95.9 FM, 106.3 FM, 880 AM, 1240 AM) to obtain the most current school information about school closures. You can also check online at Flathead County Superintendent of Schools-School Closures @ flathead.mt.gov/schools/closures.php

Trinity will be listed at the bottom.

We are also trying to work the bugs out of our computer program so that we can send out a mass text to inform you of closures.
