Dotstorming - Image Polling Here is another student response program which uses images for students to vote on. Dotstorming is a great tool to use with any age, but will need a device to submit their vote. Teachers can create a topic (different polls) with images or ideas to vote on. When their poll is ready, teachers will need to "Invite Participants" by giving them a link to click on. As students vote on images, dots will populate on the images students vote on. This is a good way to rank items, collect lunch count, poll students favorites, or collaborate on an item. | Share Your Tech What type of innovative (or non-innovative) technology do you use in your classroom? I am looking to put together a list of tech resources used throughout the tri-county areas. So again, what technology are you using in your classroom? IOS 9 Updates If you are like me, odds are that you have done some research on the new IOS 9 update. I am always looking for new features that will help the way I muli-task while using my devices. Upon my searching, I had found this site that gave 25 tips to know about the new update. Check those tips out here. Also, check out the Notes App. It got an overhaul and allows users to insert pictures and handwritten notes. | Google Photos This is one of the BEST tools that can be used with your Google account. Google Photos allows pictures taken from any device to be uploaded to your Google account. These photos can then be deleted from your camera rolls as they will still be available inside the Google Photos app. Having this allows photos/videos to uploaded automatically and accessed on any device with the app. Download the IOS or Google Play App here. | Padlet....Now for the iPad Many of you have heard of Padlet before, but if not, it is a collaboration platform where students and teachers can share just about anything. It is a interactive board that text, links, audio, pictures, and videos can be shared on. Why use this? This tool allows students working independently on iPads or other devices to share what they have created with a group/class. Padlet is now an IOS app, which looks and feels the same as the web version. Sharing could not be any easier inside the app using the IOS share icon (the square with the arrow). Teachers have the ability to share it with a QR code projected on the board in seconds. Students would then scan the QR code to get to the Padlet board in a quick manner. |
