Family Information for the Book Fair
Hello Families!
The Scholastic Book Fair is almost here! Please read the information about our fair below.
The Scholastic Book Fair comes to our school November 11th-15th to share the newest books and other exciting learning products with our young readers. Parents and teachers will find plenty of items to interest them too.
The fair is open each day, Tuesday through Friday (11/12-11/15), from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. On Friday the fair will be shut down at 1:00 p.m. for pack up.
Monday, 11/11, is the Veterans' Day Celebration/Thanksgiving Lunch at school. The book fair will be opened on this day for parents to shop with their children during lunch blocks from 10:00am- 2:00pm.
We’re hosting a Family Event on Thursday, 11/14, from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and shop the fair.
Students will preview the book fair on Tuesday, 11/12, and come home with a wish list of a few things they would like to purchase. Parents are invited to come anytime during the week to browse and/or make purchases during open hours. If parents are unable to attend but would still like their child to purchase something, they may send in checks (made payable to Hayfield PTA) , cash, or an eWallet printout. eWallet is a new form of payment (see more information on it here and click on the link below to sign-up.) eWallet is a highly encouraged form of payment as there is no need to worry about exact amounts on checks or the losing of cash. You will only be charged for what the child actually purchase in the end. It is very helpful to have a list of what the student is allowed to buy, especially in the primary grades. If a parent is present, credit cards are also accepted as a form of payment. Since Hayfield is a public school no tax is charged.
Items may sell out. If you click on the link below to the online fair, you can order items there as well. They will be delivered to the school about two weeks after the fair is over.
- When you visit the book fair, please consider donating a book as a special gift to your child’s classroom library. These books will enrich the education of children for years to come. We have asked teachers to preview the book fair and fill out a Classroom Wish List so you will know exactly which books they desire. Look for the Wish List display and volunteers will help you from there.
The book fair helps us promote reading while raising money for special school projects. Admission is free and there’s no sales tax! Please come.
