We will not have formal presentations this year. Instead, we will be utilizing small break-out rooms for introductions. People will be assigned to these small break-out rooms, and they will be switched up a few times to meet a wide variety of community partners. Please plan on having links to websites, brochures and/or business cards to put in the chat box.
We believe that Chippewa Falls has a unique and wonderful relationship with our community partners, and we look forward to continuing this collaboration.
Revamping and Re-advertising the Cardinal Care Parent Focus Group!
Schools use focus groups to gather data to help understand parent/guardian perspectives. Focus groups are helpful for giving parents/guardians a way to share their ideas. We are inviting all parents to the Cardinal Care Parent Focus Group to share their ideas, experiences, and feedback on the mental health supports offered to our students and families. If they have other topics that they would like to discuss, they can share them as well.
The CFAUSD Parent Focus Group facilitator is Kalin Hiess. Currently, she is a Youth Placement Specialist and a group facilitator at Chippewa Valley High School. Prior to working with youth, she was a substance use counselor. She is passionate about educating the community on addiction and mental health.
While focus groups do not provide confidentiality, the Parent Focus Group facilitator will suggest that the group treat each other's comments with respect and value differences of opinions.

Compassion and Resilience Toolkit Challenge #2
I would like to slowly introduce you to The Compassion Resilience Toolkit and offer a series of challenge questions for you to ponder. You can also do this as a staff activity.

Challenge Questions to Ponder:
1. Think about each stage of the cycle: Zealot, Irritable, Withdrawn, Zombie
a. What feelings and experiences might contribute to a person “hanging out” in each stage – even to becoming one’s norm?
b. How would that lead to one’s inability to act with compassion during your workday? (Think of any impact on specific steps of compassionate action.)
Here is a link to data collected for Round 1 and 2 of the AWARE grant. This data will continue to change as students are set up for services. Round 1 is from 7/1/2020-9/30/2020 and Round 2 is from 10/1/2020-12/31/2020.
