Dear Parents,
We have had a busy week at Rose this week! Some of the shorter weeks are the busiest as we try to pack five days of learning and fun into four school days! Please see below for important school and district news.
School Lunchroom: As the district continues to monitor COVID cases and data and reviews mitigation procedures, changes to some school lunchrooms will be implemented starting April 18th. Due to the high number of positive COVID cases at Rose this week, we are not going to redo our lunchroom plan at this time. We will reassess our positive cases next week to determine when we will make the change. Thank you for your understanding.
COVID Dashboard: We have 14 positive student COVID cases reported at Rose School this week and 6 students in quarantine. We have 2 positive staff cases to report. If you have additional questions about positive cases and quarantines, you can also check the district COVID Dashboard for up-to-date district COVID information.
Per new school guidelines, District 220 is now accepting negative home covid test results for certain symptoms. Please review the most up-to-date IDPH guidance here.
Math Parent University: The Elementary Parent University, "Supporting Your Elementary Child in Mathematics," recording can be viewed on this link:

In the video, Dr. Resnick discusses the approach we take to build students' understanding of numeracy and mathematics, as well as ways to support your child.
She refers to the following websites as resources to use at home:

Barrington Online Summer School: Enrollment open! Are you looking for a fun, engaging, and flexible summer learning experience for your child this summer? If so, Barrington Online Summer School, also known as the 220 BOSS program, is exactly what you are looking for! Barrington Online Summer School will occur at the end of the summer in an effort to help prepare students for the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. Courses will be either 2 or 4 weeks in length and will provide students with 45-60 minutes of instruction per day. The best part is that students can complete the learning from the comfort of their own home, in their backyard, or while on vacation. If you are interested in learning more about Barrington Online Summer School (BOSS), please follow this link to the district summer school website where you can find course information, dates, cost, and any other pertinent BOSS information. Space is limited, so don’t hesitate to enroll today! If you have any questions, please reach out to Zach Ernst, Hough Street and BOSS principal, at zernst@barrington220.org.
