Make your own Interactive Whiteboard

This was a really interesting session about creating an interactive whiteboard by using 1 or 2 wii remotes and some free and/or cheap software ($50) called SmoothBoard Air. You can turn any white wall or whiteboard into an interactive screen. They also created interactive pens to use. The pens could be made out of old expo markers or LED laser pointers. The pens could be created for about $10 each. There will be a session this summer in the Boone County Technology Trainings that will show you step by step how to create your own interactive board and pens for your classroom. If you are interested, make sure to check out the summer technology training offerings.

Technology Smackdown

This was a really cool session where participants presented free or cheap websites, apps and low cost hardware. This was an opportunity for teachers to share their cool resources with each other. We are going to offer a technology smack down during our summer technology training offerings. We will be offering tech smackdown for the elementary level and another one for the middle/high level. Be sure to check out our summer technology training offerings for these sessions.
