In addition, any new-to-the-district 8th grader who is interested in getting to know East Middle School is welcome to join the New 8th Grade Building Tour at 5:30PM during Meet The Teacher Night.

17-18 School Start Times
There are some changes to the school day schedule this year. With grade level reconfiguration, some start and end times have changed slightly to accommodate school scheduling, efficiency in transportation, and staff collaboration.
For middle school students, the school day begins at 7:35 a.m. and ends at 2:50 p.m. Because supervision is not available until 7:10 a.m., students will not be allowed in the building until that time unless they have made prior arrangements with staff members. Students arriving prior to 7:25 a.m. will need to report to their grade level's assigned area. At 7:25 a.m., all students are dismissed from their assigned area or breakfast in the cafeteria and will need to report to their first class of the day by 7:35 a.m.
Car riders will also need to report directly to their first class of the day. Breakfast will be available to students until 7:30 a.m.

Important Immunization Information
All students must present documentation of immunizations, including month, day, and year of each immunization before attending school.
- Incoming 8th graders: Tdap and meningococcal. (The Tdap vaccine helps protect adults and adolescents against 3 diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough.)
The Health Department will accept some insurance, including Medicaid. Uninsured or under-insured children may receive immunizations at half the regular price at this clinic: $10 per child - cash or check only.
